How do you justify this claim when reading John 8:54, which says,
';Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:';
Basically if you go around saying my church is better than your church, you would be doing this in vain since you're glorifying your church above other churches, no?
And this doesn't go for the Catholic church, even though the Vatican claimed this ( http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2007/07/10… ), since the doctrine of papal infallibility is false...all humans are the same, even if they're the pope. Apparently the Vatican forgot about the Orthodox church.

An aside, regarding how Christians believe that Christianity is the only true religion: Christianity is honoured by God.
';A voice came from the cloud, saying, ';This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.';'; (Luke 9:35)Question to those who believe that their church is the only true one?
Consider how Jesus viewed the Jewish clergy, who were to all appearances, God's Chosen at the time. ';Offspring of vipers'; was the kindest thing Jesus called them. Why?
Because they took their position to fleece the flock left and right and sideways rather than protect and guide them in the way God approved. They were great at looking after themselves. Look at Matthew 6:1-8 just before giving us the Lord's Prayer. This is some of what the clergy was doing rather than their jobs God had given them.
Jesus did not fail to call them exactly what they were. Why should we not point this out to the public as well? Like Jesus, we want all people to gain life eternal under God's Kingdom government. By not following what God commands in the Bible about pure worship, those religions only lead to death for those following them. That ';broad road leading to destruction';. (Matt. 7:13-14)
That is why we go to the doors of all people, to let them know what the Bible says. If they listen--great. If not--fine too. Most will not. Just as the Bible shows in every case where Jehovah renders judgement on a place, He always gave them all notice what exactly was going to happen. He also provided a way to get to safety for those who accepted His warning. Noah's time being the best example. All were warned of the upcoming Flood, but only Noah's family listened and obeyed.
It is not grandstanding to live the life Jehovah tells us to follow, nor to warn others they are not doing so.Question to those who believe that their church is the only true one?
I'm not a Jehovah's witness, but I follow the commandments and receive the sacraments just as Jesus instructed. It doesn't matter what church you follow, as long as they are authentic. Jesus called the Pharisees vipers because of their behavior to seek the glory from men breaking the 1st commandment

Surely you can't say all denominations break the commandments.
p.s. ';...Hell a place of torment, Immortality of the soul...'; These things are true, not false teachings.

Anyone who has been born again, anyone who has Christ within- are part of the ';true Church';.
They are found here and there.
Denominational membership doesn't save you.
The Church is NOT a visible organization.
JESUS IS THE TRUE ONE
john 14 v 6
The truth is that the Catholic Church was the true religion for a short while after Jesus and his Apostles, but gradually they started to introduce false teachings into their religion like the Trinity, Hell a place of torment, Immortality of the soul, they also adopted pagan celebrations and participated in Politics and wars till now. The Protestant religions that came out of the Catholic religion did exactly the same thing. Except for Jehovah's Witnesses our beliefs and teachings come directly from Jesus and his Apostles thanks to Jehovah and his holy spirit and intense Bible research. John 4:24
If I went from door to door, espousing why I and those who are of my faith are better than others, you could be right.
I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I don't do that. Do I believe my beliefs are correct?? Sure, or they wouldn't be ';my beliefs';. Are my beliefs in some areas diametrically opposed to the beliefs of others??? Sure. Does that mean I think they are incorrect?? Well, if it is a matter, of right or wrong, then yes I do think their beliefs are incorrect. Doesn't make me better, it just means I feel I am following the Bible correctly, in this matter.
Igo from door to door, to give honor and to witness about the same person Jesus did, his father Jehovah.
The bottom line is that Christianity is as responsible for the deaths of as many people as Islam. and please people don't get bent out of shape, facts are facts... every religion especially the three Abrahamic faiths (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) have blood on their hands. (second) People should have the right to practice which ever religion they choose, remember that God is called God in the language of the people, so While we say God, Muslims say Allah (which translates into God), Parsee say Ahura Mazda... it's all the same. At the end of the day all religions are founded on the same principles 1. To respect the creator(s), and most importantly and simply the golden rule, put it, say it however you want, You should treat people, in all aspects, the way you wish to be treated. Who are we, Who is anyone else to judge, we should leave that to God. As the Christian church feels that they are the right path to heaven (lets face it there are 28,000 thousand denominations of the Christian church, Christians can't even agree on how to read the bible or practice the faith, really who the hell are they to judge outsiders?) All other religions feel that they too are the right path. All anyone goes on is faith, Nothing can really be proved so how dare anyone, especially Christians say that their church is the one and only path (just for the record Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses like to call themselves Christians, but they are not recognized by the Christian church as a denomination).
Tell me something. If I DIDN'T believe my religion was the only true one, then why would I continue within it?
The scripture you used doesn't apply since Jesus was talking about himself as an individual, he was not talking about a belief system or a group of teachings.
On the contrary, Jesus taught that the way to life would be limited, that we should ';13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.'; (Matthew 7: 13,14)
He went on to talk about how there would be many false prophets misleading people, claiming to be his followers, but that even though they did things in his name, he would disown them and tell them to ';get away'; form him and that ';by their fruits'; you would recognize them.
Those NOT having the true religion would be apparent in their actions. Those having it would also be apparent by their good actions.
John 13: 34 ';I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. 35 By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.” ';
Jesus commanded his true disciples to love one another ';just as I have loved you';. How much did Jesus love us? enough to sacrifice his own life for his disciples and for us. When you find a religious group who has so much love among its members that they are willing to do that for one another then you will have found the true religion.
